I listened to the first recording and I REPEAT: The PAN is not MIXED RIGHT.
The politics is over and DIAZ win.
If you all want to discuss PROPERLY RECORDED PAN MUSIC ... I feel that I could give anybody a run for their money on THAT TOPIC TOO like I did with the PAN TRINIBAGO POLITICS.
But just like you don't want to give away your CALYPSO COMPOSITION SKILLS FOR FREE (and that is a topic that I can engage in INTELLGENTLY, too) I am not going to give away my MUSIC RECORDING INSIGHTS for FREE.
We got to keep the forum going ABOVE ALL ELSE -- which is my (and Cecil's) agenda. So I don't mind engaging on the FAILURE OF WELL RECORED PAN MUSIC.
Your points are well taken, for me there are times I choose to dis-engage from discussions and just LISTEN to the music without carrying a critical ear. Like you have suggested to others before, just start a new discussion on that topic. I’m sure you’ll get the kind of responses you want. I know what I don’t know; I’m NOT a SOUND ENGINEER. With today’s sound reproduction systems you are able to enjoy a better video and audio sound. There’s software that can re-master audio and video.
For example with a basic desktop computer with a HD Graphic Card and HD Sound Card and High Quality Speakers you can enhance your viewing and listening experience. I use my son PS3 as a direct connect to the internet and integrate it with the SMART TV and other devices 5.1 Amp, including the speakers Large Front, Rear, Center with a Sub-woofer to create the surround sound effect to play YOUTUBE videos and watch movies.
One is , I may not have as critical an air , but I don't quite understand Claude's comment about the mix.
And ,the other is something I've wanted to say for a long time.
Folks , there is a plethora of high quality steel pan and steelband music out there , available to anyone who looks for it.
The steelband music catalog is extremely, large , filled with quality recordings going back to the Cook recordings of the 1950s , into the "Sanch" Sandiford classics of the 80s and 90s and on-wards.
Unfortunately , we've also had recordings that became unavailable , probably for financial reasons.
However ,since "Music Doh Spoil" , the limited appeal of pan music worldwide has little to do the availability of quality music, and more to do with exposure of the art-form.

Despers won in 1991 with Musical Volcano composed and arranged by Robert Greenidge.
The PAN is not MIXED right!!!
This is a "playlist" that consist of 16 video clips from Youtube.
If you scroll the cursor to top left of the video, it list the number of the video that’s being played.

Two things.
