My great aunt used to say leave them to God. That's the truth. Everyone has to pay sometime. The longer it takes the more tortuous and painful the restitution.
Diaz inherited or should I say was elected to an organization that was created in 1986, when its goals and objectives for the steelband movement were relevant for that time; PAN has progressed way beyond the set of objectives they were trying to achieve. Today PAN is exposed to different realities. If I was Diaz, I may be doing the same thing under any government administration PNM, UNC or PP, the ministers may want to call the shots but the ACT No 5 of 1986 gives him the power to be the shot-caller.
The ministers come and go, it don’t mean a thing for him to embarrass them in public for failing to perform their duties. Didn't we hear from a poster on here, the last minister begged him to take him (the minister) on their Nigerian trip. Let’s see whose de BOSS, Panorama 2016 round de corner. Looking forward to seeing some photo-ops with the new minister kissing-up or kissing all part of the public relations exercise.
odw, from the on-set we see this new government is all about cutting so it's left to be seen what type of relationship they will have with PT. I have seen the bio of the new Minister of Culture and I don't think she will be no push over for anybody.
The bio is impressive, but she's a novice in this particular area, under her portfolio Pan Trinbago is a different horse compared to TUCO and the other stake holders in the carnival industry. This will be on the job training for her, no hating here. I can understand the challenge she faces. The dynamics at play is going to be interesting for us to see. Again who's going to be the SHOT CALLER? We saw what happen to Gypsy when he tried to restrict their allocation. Lincoln tried to get them to provide data on their accounting and nothing happened. Has the public seen any accounting breakdown on the cost to stage the last Panorama or any of the pan competitions from the last 5 - 10 years? All I'm hearing is the members still waiting to get PAID. Correct me if I'm wrong.
If the Members/Pan Players still waiting to be paid they will be paid just before the Election that's what happens around Election time if they are not paid is because Diaz knows that he is going to be unopposed nothing to worry about,

Cecil: You could not get a better bio than Lincoln Douglas so it goes way beyond that.

Claude,
The way it looks to me is the NV has lost all interest in opposing Diaz and company, this was the game plan of PT all along, we are now face with a situation where there is NO opposition so an election will be a walk in the park for them. Do any of the steelbands care who runs PT? few.
