Pan Trinbago’s president Keith Diaz is unhappy with the allocation for pan from the National Carnival Commission., and is particularly concerned about the funding to get Tobago steelbands to Trinidad for Panorama 2018.
NCC chairman Colin Lucas announced a $20.5 million allocation for pan Trinbago at the launch of Carnival last Friday at the VIP Lounge, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.
“In 2016, when we faced the scenario of $2.7 million with the bands coming from Tobago, I get stick, I get lash, I get hit left, right and centre and that is a problem for 2018 right now,” Diaz said

Pan Trinbago's alleged cost for the Tobago band's accommodation, transport, etc, etc for panorama 2016 was 2.7 million. The average elapsed days from the first day of prelims to the finals is 36. "Arithmeticly" speaking, 2,700,000 divided by 36 is 75,000. So, are we to believe that Pan Trinbago incurs expenses of $75,000tt for the Tobago entities daily? Even if that 2.7 million is an exaggerate figure and it was more like half, the figure will be $37,500 daily still high, half of that is 18,750 still too high. Any thoughts?

You have to pay transport and pay for appearance, this should be examine closely.
How many bands come from Tobago for appearance fees only?
Don't single out Tobago bands! The issue at hand is transportation costs for Tobago bands. T'dad bands also receive transportation allowances (I believe with the exception of those located in POS).
Regarding appearance fees, the more pertinent question should be: How many steelbands in T'dad and Tobago participate in panorama for appearance fees only? eh?
