Do the foreign based arrangers really get respect from the local adjudicators in the large band category ?

Zanda been doing for bands before despers and my opinion his music is no different to the music he does for Deltons when they was large. Go back and listen to when deletions played trini and despairs played trini. I do think that judges are more harder on foreign arrangers, They had times I thought andrea would have been in finals and he wasn't. I thought the music he did for despairs was excellent but they didn't want to put him in finals.

Colleagues, is this the same attitude of mind with regards to "International Steelband Competitions" held in Trinidad? Please advise us on the outside. Thank you.

  To my understanding, they had a foreign judge in the IPC...
  
  The judging rules are International in nature with an International panel of judges overseeing the competition.The high and low scores will be removed and the final score tabulated from the six remaining adjudged scores.   Dem Calypso real boring, boy. Everybody internalizing the crime, everybody fraid to express emotions and criticize the government because they cannot bite the hand that feeds calypso. Karen Ache had the best song but she got a real problem with PROJECTING to the audience.

So gentlemen and this goes to all the regulars on this forum and king Claude who is like day and night. We all know that some of the best pan players and arrangers have migrated and residing in New York, Miami,Canada,the UK and Los Angeles to name a few and some of them are members of the Pan Trivia web site and have refused to join this WST forum and I will not say why but I suspect that they want to distance themselves from the old rhetoric/talk that they left behind in the mecca. Pannist like Robert Greenidge,Dane Gulson,Terry Kinsale Figuera,Liam Teague just to name a few.And a couple of top steelbands of the past like Guinness Cavaliers who players never made it back home after touring Canada and North America.Some of these very same players have sibling who are pan players and some of them have even gone as far to getting their musical degrees like Andre White and Liam Teague. But I must say that Bugs comment made a lot of sense.

  AWT, I believe most of the people on the Pan Trivia site are also members of WST, they just choose not to be active in the forum.
  
  WST is the largest pan site in the world so we would have to assume that most pan people are members.
