  •  are we going to get  foto wardens to handle this

     double g is already overbooked

  • Any idea what accreditation cost, what $1M ??? madness
  • This is another silly idea from people who love to change stuff up. If I spent 4,000 on a costume and my wife and friends did the same are they telling me I can't video us playing carnival. they never invest in proper media coverage and are still putting out those lame after the carnival magazines, I want my stuff in real time if I am videocasting something I should get a license? if they got their fingers out of where the sun don't shine and do a proper blanket coverage of the whole country inclus=ding Tobago then I would consider myself infringing on their copyrights. We first saw this at the Soca Monarch in 2017 when the results were delivered the following day and you were not allowed to video the show on the night or you were ejected from the stadium. Get your act together first and then come out with rules and restrictions.
  • I remember when this was a big issue, so things have not changed, apparently. There was more stuff like this posted a few years back - "Photographers protest high fees to cover mas, pan & more"
    https://whensteeltalks.ning.com/forum/topics/photographers-protest-...

There was a photographer called Andrea De Silva in that article who talked about her experiences.

And she had even more to say in a similar piece -

De Silva’s benchmark for media appreciation is the St Lucia Jazz Festival, which she has covered for the last 11 years.

“All accommodation and accreditation is handled by them because they recognise the value of the local and international media in promoting the event.”

“They do the same for their Carnival and I think everyone should take a page from their how-to-treat-the-media handbook.”
