AN EAGLEBY community organisation is giving disabled people the chance to play to the beat of a different drum and is holding special drum and music classes for disabled people.

Trinidad drummer Alvin Rostant formed the Panable Orchestra, an eight-piece steel drum outfit, which is played entirely by those with a disability.

Not-for-profit organisation, Creative Collective Cultural Community INC helped bring the orchestra to life. It allowed the students and Mr Rostant to hold music sessions at the centre.

Regional Arts Development Fund grants were also used to buy drums and stands for those in wheelchairs.

Mr Rostant gives lessons to all who turn up for the sessions. He even imported special single drums from Trinidad and Tobago.
