Electricity went and the only lights were at the Community Pan Yard. Pan On the Move, 23 years of no lights has ended.

As the attendees got ready to leave the Pan on The Move steel orchestra’s historic Solar Lights launching, current went in the area. The band members who had already taken off the lights to make leave took the opportunity to show off by switching the lights back on and extending the lime. In an area where the pan yard was known to always be literally in the dark, it was then the only source of light in the community.

The Pan Moving Forward Group lit up the Arima steel band, Pan On The Move steel orchestra, after being in the dark for 23 years. This was the second band where they have successfully installed renewable energy and coincidentally, the second band from the eastern region that has been without lights for more than two decades. In August, Brazil RX 4 steel orchestra would have been the first band benefiting from the Pan Moving Forward solar drive initiative. Brazil RX 4 did not have lights for over 28 years and like Pan on The Move Steel Orchestra, attempts would have been made to get relief from MPs, councillors, T&TEC officials, Pan Trinbago executives etc., without success.

At yesterday’s lighting ceremony, among those in attendance were the Honourable Minister, Penelope Beckles, who spoke on the alignment of the Pan Moving Forward renewable energy initiative with that of the government’s. She spoke of the recently held conference with world leaders on climate change issues and their commitment to renewable energy. The president of Pan Moving Forward, Aquil Arrindell, spoke to embracing change and urged band leaders to prepare and make space for it in order to be able to receive what is destined for the future. Finbar Kong, the manager of the band, expressed gratitude to the group Pan Moving Forward and conveyed his satisfaction with the professional approach toward the whole operation.

As the evening progressed, the official switching on of the lights was done by the Honourable Minister, Pennelope Beckles. The attendees enjoyed sweet pan, drinks, food and good conversation with their friends in pan that they were not able to see in person after a very long time. For the band Pan On The Move, according to a band member, the possibilities are endless and the sky is the limit with their future endeavors. He said that during the evenings proceedings he became so emotional his eyes started tearing up because today his prayers was answered.

  • $27,500. is a lot of money.tell me who giving that up that.

  • Ever since I compared the last constitutionally elected president of Pantrinbago, who coincidentally was the first lady president of the steelband movement, to the parasitic folklore character the soucouyant, the immigrant Claude Gonzales has not desisted from continually describing pantrinbago's untrustworthy leader in that manner.

With elections taking place all over Trinidad and Tobago (THA, where it is expected Mrs Beverley Ramsey Moore may be eligible to cast a vote, sporting bodies, credit unions), it is clear that anyone who can come on national electronic and print media, convinced that it is impossible to hold any elections, and brings along a chorus to convince people, is in addition to a soucouyant, a La Diablesse.

The legend says that the La Diablesse's vanity leads her to make deals with the devil, giving him her soul for eternal youth, thereby being transformed into a demon. To others, her poise, figure, and dress make her seem beautiful.

The La Diablesse and The Socouyant do not like light!

The legend says that they function most efficiently and effectively in the dark. Therefore it goes without saying that the actions of Aquil Arrindell, lighting up panyards sustainabale, all across Trinidad must infuse anger into the devil's advocate.

Let there be light across the steelband movement.

I implore steelband leaders and delegates to think.

I implore steelband leaders and delegates to choose wisely.

I want to encourage the first president of pantrinbago who can actually play pan, Aquil Arrindell, to continue bringing light to the steelband movement.

  • ... while THE PRESIDENT of PAN TRINBAGO sits twiddling her thumbs hiding from COVID 19 and collecting her $27,500 every month (plus perks) and refusing to hold DUE ELECTIONS. And the liaison officer who was supposed to investigate the needs of steelbands while she collects her $10,000 a month (plus perks) is out there acting like a jammette and threatening to kill  members of the PAN MOVING FORWARD members if they ever come to TOBAGO.

TEAM REBUILD destroying and dividing instead of keeping their election promise to REBUILD. But what could you expect when you put a PAN SOCCOUYANT to run PAN TRINBAGO.
