Eric Williams and The Economic Future of the Caribbean

In 1943 Eric Williams, the future prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago, organized a conference on 'The Economic Future of the Caribbean'. Williams, a rising star in intellectual and activist circles, brought together an eclectic and influential group of experts to debate the conference theme.

Chalkdust - Ah Can't Bury Eric Williams

In his early years Dr. Eric Eustace Williams T&T's first Prime Minister attended Queens Royal College in Port-of-Spain, Williams excelled at academics and soccer which subsequently gained him a scholarship to study at St Catherine's, Oxford in 1932. Regarded as the "Father of the Nation," he served as the first Prime Minister of T&T from September 25th, 1956 to March 29th, 1981.
