  • If others see the potential of the steel pan for profit and decides to exploit it while we sleep, I don't know if I would call it "pimpimg" , I'll call it business (even though some pimps see themselves as businessmen).

IBM never saw the potential of the personal computer and basically gave it away.

Bill Gates , Steve Jobs and others saw the potential , and became billionaires.

And btw ,  that comment wasn't about the players , or the steel-bands.

    Its about the culture.

    • the difference is, steve jobs and bill gates were/are european and different rules apply especially when it comes to the negro. It is an unfair comparision to make.

no one becomes a billionaire without being sanctioned by the global elite i.e. rothschild banking dynasty who as a family ouwn an estimated $500 TRILLION worth of assets.

Even a billion compared to that net worth is basically pennies to them!

      follow the money.

      • Rudy Kendall , my comment  had nothing to do with European or African or Rich or poor.

It was simply to elaborate the point about someone seeing value where others didn't , and exploiting it !

And btw niether Steve Jobs of Apple or Gates and Allen of Microsoftstarted with big money backing  . They were software engineering types with ideas and imagination that started garage operations the grew to become what they are today.

As we would say . it didn't happen "just so".

        • Dear Glenroy,

          Your point is noted.

I would like to remind you however that when business and industry is concerned, everything is tightly controlled from the top-down. Anything grass roots as far as development and innovation that is NOT in tune with the agenda of the powers that be is STIFLED and dismantled.

Marcus Garvey is a perfect example.

Speaking of tech guys like bill gates, Paul Allen, Steve jobs, you seem to forget that they play roles in the agenda of the powers that be and are tapped to be the frontmen of billion dollar front companies owned and operated by the powers that be.

As long as you do not think along these lines, it is highly likely you will miss the big picture.

Like I said, every area of human activity is tightly controlled from the top down, tech companies are no exception and the idea that Paul Allen and bill gates started Microsoft from their garage while being college drop out is a lie, just like most any other story being told.

Bill Gates/Paul Allen are serving bigger heads who we do not see and playing their role in an agenda.

If you think it's not a black and white thing think again. It's not just about exploiting an a opportunity where others are not or seeing value in something when others do not. That is only the first step. But when it boils down to practical implementation of this exploitation on actual markets, race and connections become a determining factor in one's success in whether he/she is ALLOWED to exploit these opportunities successfully.

No one is allowed to earn 1 billion $ without being sanctioned and backed by the powers that be.
  • Like Trump would say, this is the Art of Making Deals... Buying and Selling, some pimping, some whoring in the name of authenticity. You can't beat my marketing strategy.

Handpan is a term for a group of musical instruments resulting from a growing worldwide interest in the Hang, an instrument invented and built by the company PANArt Hangbau AG.

The first four alternatives to the Hang, which are generally included by the term handpan, were Caisa (2007), BElls (2009), Halo (2009), and Spacedrum (2009). Today, many handpan builders have entered the market and offer instruments that vary widely in quality.

This expression first appeared in the fall of 2007 on the website of an American steelpan producer Pantheon Steel. It was used to describe its own development of a new instrument which was launched as an alternative to the Hang.[1]

Consequently, this term found its way into discussions in the defunct Hang-Music Forum on the Internet.[2] The successor of this forum was founded in 2009 and was called handpan.org.[3] The expression handpan found wide circulation especially in the context of this forum.

The term handpan is controversial. Critics point out that the Hang, which all makers of handpans use as a standard model, is essentially defined through its difference to the steelpan. Furthermore, the term pan is used for the national culture of the steel bands in Trinidad and Tobago, to which neither the Hang nor the instruments called handpans bear any relationship. Supporters stress the necessity of a generic term. They advocate that handpan is a suitable and well-understood new term for the abbreviation of a steelpan played by hand. It has become a conventionalized expression among those who are interested in these kinds of instruments and there is no better alternative in sight.

The Hang makers of PANArt, Felix Rohner and Sabina Schärer, reject the expression handpan to describe the Hang. "To state it clearly and precisely: we do not make percussion instruments, handpans or hang drums." From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • Bugs,

with all due respect, after checking out your profile and your recent post history here, it is obvious to me that you are more concerned with the NBA bread and circus distractions, and not the fact the Pan is being stolen right from under the noses of the originators of the instrument and art form.

This is what bread and circus is all about. It was used by the Romans to distract the people with mind numbing entertainment, and make them focus on the distractions while the roman governors swept the rug from underneath the feet of the people. Those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it as they say.

Given the circumstances and your unwillingness to take the time and read the post in order to answer your own question, you would rather sit around and wait for me to spoon feed you. I decline to answer your question, sir.

    • Mr. Kendall

Sometimes a question is not just a question - but rather an opportunity to give information in a different setting. Marcus, Medgar, Malcolm and Martin answered the same questions over and over and over again - wherever the people at without any preconceive notions or unnecessary arrogance. And by the way, they watched boxing, basketball and baseball too.

      • I appreciate your point.

However, while I respect Marcus, and the early Malcolm, the fact is all those people you listed were martyrs. A martyr I am not and i do not wish to be one, so with that line of reasoning in place, answering the same questions over and over is not appealing to me Its like listening to a broken record and just because Marcus and Malcolm may have done it, it does not mean they enjoyed it. They did so out due to the different nature of their work.

Boxing, basketball, and baseball, all of these sports that you mentioned are highly controlled and influenced by various interconnecting mafia outlets with the purpose of creating more and more higher payoing gambling rackets.

As well as the fact it is just modern day slavery all over again with the negro as the field slave centerpiece attraction and the european pulling his strings, buying and trading the negro among their european partners as they wish ala slavery days. why something like this which objectifies a historically oppressed group such as the negro on a mass scale interests you, I know not!

      • Aye Bugs, when last you heard the use of the word "NEGRO"
