Ramsey-Moore: Pan fraternity treated unfairly

Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Pan Trinbago President Beverly Ramsey-Moore has warned the public that the organisation, the local governing body for the steelpan, will not be insulted.

She also feels Pan Trinbago still has to “fight up” to get support from governmental and private institutions to carry out some of its activities.

....Ramsey-Moore took to task people who persist in saying Pan Trinbago is too dependent on the government.

“No longer are we going to be insulted, because pan is yours. Always remember that. Pan is yours. It is not only Pan Trinbago’s,”

Ramsey-Moore, whose lecture focused on the development of the steelpan and its impact on communities, revealed she sometimes has to behave in a “kinda manner” to get assistance.

“Recently, I had to remind somebody I am a marabunta. Sometimes, you have to behave in a particular way but we must not struggle anymore and I have indicated that we, the leaders of the movement, give support without being compensated.”

The judging process as Dr. Boogsie Sharpe intimated is subjective and biased....he has called for a revamping of the judging framework and in particular to look at the evolution of sampling trending amongst Panorama arrangers juxtapositioned against the marks allocated towards creativity within judging framework for the sake of storytelling choreography particularly in the conventional category, specifically medium and large.

Will that advice  from Dr. Boogsie be heeded?..only time will tell....but past behaviour being predictor of future behaviour, I suspect that if these ventilations by Dr. SHARPE are not taken seriously, one may very well find the probability of the outcome of 6 medium bands from Tobago in Medium Final with four medium bands from Trinidad being more likely, to being more expedient means expenditure wise to the suitable and necessary budgetary end.....

Kissing up to the President is not my forte, only taking licks and sharing facts.....so tell de man from Puna.....try again..

    • Gregory, We have one thing IN COMMON: We don't have to be disrespectful and abusive to make our point -- yuh well put meh in meh place man.

Ah love you more than THAT RUSSELL PROVIDENCE FELLAH!!!

  • I am glad that My President of Pan Trinbago Beverly Ramsey-Moore⁩ has finally gotten to that place after a year in office.

I feel vindicated that "that kinda behaviour" and recalling who really reminded all of you what marabunta behavior is when one gets fed UP of total disrespect...over and over and over again...hmph.

AGM is an opportunity to talk...I will have a lot to say....I have been holding my tongue for a year to give the President and her team room to maneuver......their arduous task, not of their doing

Performance appraisal time is coming at AGM....the same things that have been said, the same advice not heeded, the same predicament we keep finding ourselves in, at the mercy of people, who do not care or have our best interests at heart....taking our ideas feeding us folly and calling shit sugar....is not my idea of Prosperity in Pan..

1st year in office you wanted bands to play in de Panorama party...but NCC doh want to pay dem no money..Ministry doh want to pay Pan people....now 2nd year in office de same tune...this ain't my first rodeo....Wake Up Stand Up...stop the Disrespect Now

    • Gregory: I always love reading your POSTINGS but ah man call me quite from TUNAPUNA and tell me that all you care about is getting your band to the MEDIUM FINALS in TOBAGO -- and yuh KISSING UP REAL BAD TO THE PRESIDENT to further that end.

But you know that I still love you, BRO!!!

  • Mr. merrytonestothebone, nothing is wrong sir.

  • I cyah understand Madame President...Things so bad in the country. Government and the private sector no longer willingly supporting Pan and Pan Trinbago raise the ceiling for Large bands to 140?...Something wrong dey...

    • When ah see the "140" ceiling (even though I did not validate it) only one man name came to my mind: MERRYTONESTOTHEBONE!!!

  • Well if yuh ONLY MEANS OF SURVIVAL is BEGGING THE GOVERNMENT FOR MONEY -- then you have to HUMBLE YUHSELF because THE PRESIDENT OF PAN TRINBAGO is NOT THE PRIME MINISTER or the MINISTER OF FINANCE or the MINISTER OF CULTURE!!!

And there is PLENTY MONEY from CORPORATE TRINIDAD willing to FUND PAN but you need the RIGHT FACES and ATTITUDE and STRATEGIC APPROACH.
