“By the grace of God almighty, I am doing well and on the mend. It is confirmed that there are no neurological deficits. However, I have suffered a concussion and must be monitored over the next four to six weeks. But, it could have been far more serious.

“I take this assault as not just an injury, but, also look to the intent of the throwing of this projectile at me. The intent was to cause grave harm, even death,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

  •  I will not disagree with anyone who believes that Carnival/Panorama 2022 is wishful thinking.

I cannot understand why the major stakeholders in Carnival i.e. Calypso, Pan and Mas have not taken a united stand on the issue of vaccination though.

I hope that Calypso, Pan and Mas will not come out and raise their voices against the government, if the 2022 festival fails to be a reality, as to date, they have done absolutely nothing in support of the administration to ensure that mass gatherings e.g. Panorama, Calypso fiesta, Parade of the bands could be safely held.

  • I loudly and categorically condemn the brutal attack on the Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

This is not the direction in which the Caribbean wants to head. Following on the heels of the assassination of the Haitian President, this criminal attack perpetrated against a duly elected Prime Minister must be condemned at every level.

Pan cannot survive without vaccinated populations, where events of mass gatherings can be convened without fear of the uncontrolled spread of the virus responsible for the global pandemic. Steelband leaders in Trinidad and Tobago should understand that, and must advocate its necessity in support of the government's effort, if we want a safe and successful Panorama 2022.
