Dr. Aurélie JanvierTrinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Dr Aurélie Helmlinger, a French ethnomusicologist, double tenor player, pan teacher and arranger involved in steelband since 1996, will deliver a presentation at Studio 66, at 66, Sixth Street, Barataria on November 16 at 7 p.m.
 

After a masters degree (1999); based on her participation to the 1998 Panorama with Merrytones (two months fieldwork), she undertook her PhD at the University of Paris X Nanterre. From 2000 to 2005, she studied the memorisation of repertoire in Trinidad and Tobago steelbands, through 15 months fieldwork in Pamberi, multi-disciplinary experimentation and bibliographic studies.
