General Performance – a maximum of 40 points shall be awarded under this category. Can you all define General Performance at the Trinidad & Tobago Panorama, Do you get Points for Attire (the way you Dress), The way the Conductor Conduct the Band, The way the Flagman/woman wave their Flag, The way the entire Band looks, The way the Band members Dance (giving you that Carnival Spirit feelings),

If so, then General Performance should be only 20 Points, ARRANGEMENT 60 Points, Tone 10 Points and Rhythm 10 Points.

The main thing about Panorama should be the Musical Arrangement.

  • Does the criteria give details of this "general performance ?" 40 points is a lot and depending on what it really covers, it could be 40 points that the arranger has no control over. If so this needs to be reviewed.
    • Roddy Dowers, Under General performance 40 Points, its Defined as, According to a Score Sheet , it says,  (1). Interpretation- the ability of the arranger to initially state the composer's intentions and the skill of the steel orchestra in executing the arrangement and all the articulations therein with precision. (2). Dynamics - The effective execution of gradations and contrasting volumes and other musical expressions in the arrangement. (3). Balance - the ability of the band to distribute their instrument on stage so that all aspects of the orchestration of the arrangement will be audible throughout the performance. That's it 100% confusing and not really understood by many judges. (Very interesting)
