Aldwyn Chow Lin On
Pan Trinbago notes with deep sorrow tha passing of one of its former Presidents – Aldwyn Chow Lin On.
Aldwyn came into prominence in the steelband world through his sponsorship apart from his leadership role of the Sangre Grande Cordettes , which for several years under his leadership was well knowm for quality of instrument and high standard of performance especially in the realm of classical music.
Pan Trinbago commiserates with the family of Aldwyn Chow Lin On and we sincerely offer our condolences.
His roles as steelband leader and Officer in the Association were significant and Sangre Grande as a community continues the legacy through Cordettes Steel Orchestra.

I remember attending a Steelband Competition in the Queens Park Savannah in the early 1960s when a band with which I was not familiar at that time "Cordettes" of Sangre Grande appeared on stage . The question was " Who is dat Chineeman leading de ban?"
I was later to learn that he was Aldwyn Chow Lin On athe son of a Sangre Grande shopkeeper. . So I kept an eye on Cordettes and Aldwyn thereafter.
Many years later there was a rumour that Peter Minshall had some Japanese assisting him in the construction of one of his "Robotic" Costumes on investigating the Japanese was none other than Aldwyn and his brother.
Aldwyn also owned a Chinese Restaurant at the corner of Tragarete and Maraval Roads.
Sad to learn of his passing. Will miss him. May he rest in Peace. Ian Lambie
My Sincere condolences To Mr Maxime,& Mr Chow lin
