Guiness Cavaliers "Sixty Seven"

Glenroy Joseph

The winning arrangement of Lord Kitchener's "67" as played by Guiness Cavaliers, Panorama champions 1967 . Arranger Lennox"Bobby" Mohammed.

For those who forgot the great Cavaliers and their legendary captain and arranger Bobby Mohammed.

FYI. This is not the original performance, This is from the Champion Steelbands of the Twentieth Century concert held in 1999.

This original arrangement of the Panorama classic was performed on this occasion by members of Pan Elders from San Fernando.

One of the best Steelbands, my Brother inlaw Paul Shepperd along with Amral Khan & Carlos Douglas brought this band to Toronto in 1967 & early 1970's, they played at the Exhibition and in the Malls as well as Yonge St. It was a great time for steelband in Toronto, I have wonderful memories of those days, long live Pan & Calypso!!!!

What a wonderful year, and it bring back memories. That year Silver Stars beat the same tune and came second,I beat for Sliver Stars, and Guiness Cavaliers was our sister band from South. Thanks for the moment. Keep up the good work.

Its a great move by the body of pan men to see it fit to have a change in the leadership of the pan movement in TNT hope this is one the the forward movement of the organization. The movement needed a change of guards so as to realize its objectives one way or another Mr. Diaz we look forward to a movement of change with proper accountability good luck to you and your new body.

Excellent work is impervious to the ravages of time. The Guiness Cavaliers with Bobby Mohammed, have attained legendary status and will long be remembered, as one of the finest steelbands in our history. How cool is that?
