Greetings again: Thanks for the heads up but this is self reLiance. What should I do to inform WST and the others? When folks inquire as to whom I am, they will learn that I have been the same as a kid as I am today. I give because this is who I am and I know who I am. Yes, they will in return get a book and we will achieve our goal. I really don't have time for people who have small thoughts about me. Greetings again: Here is an update. First though let me say that I hope we are not grandstanding. I went to my bank and was reminded that since we have conducted transactions to TT, it would not be a problem to transfer any cash to my TT account as long as it is not in a lump sum of $10,000.
Secondly, we should set a time line as to when we would like to transfer some cash. I would like to say possible November. This means we must sell the books. Third, Maybe, we can get the Pan encyclopedia Brother Franklin to begin collecting the names of the elders who might need some help.
Thirdly, I have already posted the rudiments as to what will transpired.
All who purchase a book(s) will be mentioned. This is a collective fund drive although the check will come from me. Please note, when I was leaving to come to America it was my community who contributed $200 for my trip. I have never forgotten this gift and I strongly believe this was one of the major factor for who I am today. The other was Dom Basil Matthews a Black priest who had a vision to build a school to help all of us poor folks.
Again I seek no accolades. But I am tired of waiting for the government to to give us pittance. I see they have done the same for Point although we have contributed the oil and gas to keep the government running. Guess what We don't have a darn thing in Point-- No Hospital, no UTT branch.

Bro lance, there is no grandstanding here, for this to be successful we have to let members know the plan, after-all they are the ones we would be looking to for the sale of books. Right off the bat Brother let me say that there will the ones that say "you just trying to sell books" they will be the loudest, but the majority of members WILL understand what you are doing and support.

Make an indication showing WST
I will keep a count of the names and then forward the listing to WST with the deposits periodically. Once the account is set up. If not I will set it up with my bank and will deposit the % in it.
Once we know who will handle the negotiations in TT ,and the government wants to go that route, I will forward the cash via wire transfer into the account.

Brother Cecil: Let me share with you an example of what we can do. I have three books on Trinidad and another is due out this year. I have committed to give 20% of the sales to Point Fortin for a scholarship that I have set up with the Borough. They have matched my contribution. I will be willing to contribute 20% of the sales of my book with the help of WST to go into a fund designated by WST to be the initial start up fund. For example, if we are committed and 5,000 purchases the books this will work out to be $18,000 US x $6.40(TT) = $ 115,200 (TT). This could be the seed money where we can go to the government and have them match the fund at 3 times per each dollar. And bingo! we can have $345,600 dollars which can be placed in an interest bearing account. We can begin to help Brother Bertie and take care of others who are in dire need.
