Felix Roach, a well-known Berklee-trained T&T musician entertained at the Hilton hotel for three decades, before donating his musical talents to charities. He received the Hummingbird Gold medal in 2004.  Mr. Roach has always worked musically several religious groups, including the Church of the Incarnation in Maloney, the choir at St Jude’s in Arima and The Trinidad Christian Centre in Petit Valley. He delights in sharing his music for “God’s work” and is currently musical director of the Sons of God Chorus.

The Sons of God chorus came into being just three years ago. It comprises some six to seven men, who are the singing component of the larger men’s group that was formed at the initiative of the former Parish Priest, Fr. Dr. Arnold Francis in 2005 from the Roman Catholic Parish of Bourg Mulatresse. Their parish Church is the Mary Immaculate Queen of the Universe Roman Catholic Church in Sun Valley, Lower Santa Cruz where they sing in all the choirs of the parish. So this most recent collaboration with the Sons of God Chorus is an extension of his spiritual musical outreach.

The Sons of God chorus with just four public appearances since its creation, under the musical direction of Mr. Roach who inspired its name, is prestigiously listed among a number of renowned artistes including the incomparable Mr. Eddie Cumberbatch (Tenor) and the Lydian Male Quartet, as well as Michael Germain and The Strings Trio and inspirational poet Dennis Milton Morgan, that are carded to appear at a "Heal our Land" concert in honour of the indefatigable cultural icon, on Sunday 14th August 2016 at The Little Carib Theatre. Start time is 6.30 pm. Hors d’oeuvre and wine will be served from 5.30  to 6.15 pm.

It is of interest to note that as a form of acknowledgement, blessing, endorsement and appreciation for the CD he received from Mr. Roach, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, a musician himself, gave Mr. Roach in return, a copy of his most recent book " Great Christian Thinkers."

Tickets at three hundred dollars each are available from Andre 675-4264, 683-9502, Sanch 663-1384, 757-1384 and the Little Carib Theatre Box Office through Michael 779.3280 or 622.4644.
The concert will be recorded in HD, edited and packaged for subsequent streaming on Republic Day, September 25th 2016. Please support our efforts.

    Story Time with Mr. Sanch

WHITHER TECHNOLOGY HEAL OUR LAND – THE ELEVENTH COMMAND

    Friday August 26th 2016

“And I’m sure that between you and me Technology
If we rally ‘round the Almighty
On the strand we’ll compose an anthem of a plan
    Etched with that beam
    Emanating from the Maestro’s hand
    Conducting the theme
    Of the ELEVENTH COMMAND
    That blends with the trend
    Of the original ten
It’s a concerto I believe mankind needs to know

    “Then, barefooted but belated
    And with ignorance finally updated
    We’ll join the celestial band
Modulating the precepts of the ELEVENTH COMMAND
That tell us to be a wiser clan
    And HEAL OUR LAND!!!”

Excerpts from the poem ‘Whither Technology’ by Dennis Milton Morgan

Heal our Land, a concert of thanksgiving and comfort took place at The Little Carib Theatre on August 14th. It was recorded in HD for worldwide commercial streaming on Republic Day (in Trinidad & Tobago), September 24th next.

Past proceeds will be used to foster social entrepreneurship initiatives including upgrading of the sound and lighting systems at the theatre and virtual Steelpan education using the animated Steelpan instructor PETE the Panstick.

Interestingly, a concert Stimela - Freedom Songs of South Africa, hosted by Signal Hill Alumni Choir of Tobago was recorded in 24-bit 176 kHz HDCD format on Sunday November 29th 20l5. The song Vuma is today’s reference to illustrate the wonderful acoustic characteristics of The Little Carib. A double CD of that concert will be available for Christmas.
