Khan Cordice returns as arranger

Antigua & Barbuda, W.I. - The FLOW Hells Gate Steel Orchestra at their Panorama Launch, unveiled their selection for the 2017 Antigua National Panorama Competition slated for Aug 4th.

‘King Obstinate’

This year the band has decided to go with ‘Jumbie,’ made famous by legendary Antiguan Calypsonian, Paul ‘King Obstinate’ Richards. ‘Jumbie’ was released in 1993 on Obstinate’s album ‘Murder with an Attitude,’ and it tells the tale of the two main undertakers in Antigua (Barnes & Straffie) vying to be the best in the land.

Straffie goes on to state that after battling for years and acquiring modern day technology they are the best, but when Barnes buries a dead, their spirit (Jumbie) won’t return to haunt anyone. “If you see a wild Jumbie, that one belongs to Straffie... Ahhhooooo!”

Hells Gate Steel Orchestra
