Good morning,
I am an American drummer and am interested in adding an electronic steel pan drum to my home studio. A friend from Ann Arbor Michigan, told me to try this website. I have narrowed down my choices between the E-pan and PHI, although the E-pan seems to better suit my needs. I have never played on a steel pan drum, but I have been using the PanKat for about 2 years. I tried searching the web for info, but I did not find the PHI's website. Do they have one? I also searched the company that makes the E-pan, and found no mailing address or toll-free number on that website. I also found out that the company that makes the E-pan was dissolved in 2012, and not active. I am afraid to do business with these two companies, for obvious reasons; $3K-plus is a lot of money to hand over to someone not in the US. I have been unable to find any reputable steel pan drummers who endorse either the E-pan or the PHI. There are no testimonials on the E-pan's website. Which one should I choose? Please help. Thanks.
