Steelpan player Brian Matthew Benoit is like a surgeon in an operating room: he never leaves home without his instruments.

For a surgeon his instruments would usually include scalpel, scissors, forceps and other sharp tools but for Benoit, it is his pan sticks.

Benoit, currently plays with the Harlem Syncopators Steel Orchestra located on Quarry Street, Laventille and says he is eager to take our national instrument to another level.

Benoit's fascination for the steelpan started at the tender age of seven and over time grew exponentially.

Now at 22, Benoit has found a way to turn his dream and passion for music into a full-time sustainable business.
