  • Lyrically, this is one of the most flawless calypsos ever written. I put it in the same category as: Portrait of Trinidad, Tourist Leggo, Thunder, Jean & Dinah, Too Much Man Family, Soccouyant, Gone for Cane, This Feeling Nice and Soca Baptist.

I will add one more calypso to this list and that is "ACTION TOO HIGH" by Gypsy. I am not sure how much popularity this Calypso ever gained but when you listen to it -- it is almost a lecture on how to write a Structured Calypso.

If some young person wants to learn how to write a GOOD CALYPSO they should go to YOUTUBE and listen to all these CALYPSOS and write out the lyrics to each of these CALYPSOS and then read the lyrics off the sheet of paper and see the theme development and the fidelity to the thesis and the use of the dialect and the currency of the topic and the literary and song writing techniques that are used to reflect the observation into the mind of the listener.

I can't believe I gave GYPSY two votes in such a massive field of songs from which to choose!!!
