I am suggesting to AINSWORTH MOHAMMED that he file another lawsuit against BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE and PAN TRINBAGO after the PANORAMA on behalf of the PLAYERS and MANAGEMENT of EXODUS for EMOTIONAL DISTRESS.

I mean, let's get real here for a minute. It does not matter what EXODUS plays in THIS PANORAMA they are not going to win (or even come close to the top) -- so why create this BIG BACCHANAL and distract from THE MUSIC.

Knowledgeable PAN LOVERS realize by now that the OLD GUARD of ARRANGERS like Holman and Salcedo and Two Left and Greenidge and Edwards and SHARPE and PELHAM GODDARD have all made their contributions to the ART FORM but their TIME has come and GONE.

There is a NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN with a whole long string of  YOUNG DEPUTIES already trying to replace him.

So why turn this simple and irrelevant change of song into a BIG BACCHANAL the week before PANORAMA and distract from the focus of THE MUSIC and the YOUNG GROUP OF ARRANGERS who have the PAN WORLD BUZZING.

Don't drag this thing into NEXT WEEK (BEVERLEY)!!! Don't spend UNPAID PAN PLAYERS MONEY on LAWYERS out of SPITE. Give EXODUS the GREEN LIGHT to play their SAVANNAH GRASS and let the GLOBAL PAN LOVERS go back to focusing on PANORAMA and not BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE.

I know that you are busy having your 100th meeting in three months but if you check around the PAN CHAT SITES -- 90 percent of all posters are saying that EXODUS has a right to change its tune just like you have a right to change the rule on ASH WEDNESDAY.

AINSWORTH MOHAMMED: Lump me in as ah victim also when you file that EMOTIONAL DISTRESS LAWSUIT.

And when we win and bankrupt PAN TRINBAGO send MY SHARE to the GUARDIAN NEEDIEST CASES FUND or pay ah few ah dem PAN PLAYERS who still waiting for their 2018 PAYMENTS while PAN TRINBAGO spending TENS OF THOUSANDS on LAWYERS to fight WE BAND  over what song WE WANT TO PLAY.

An INTERLOPER wreaking havoc on THE PAN WORLD!!!

Clyde Weatherhead Pan players were led into fighting over Panorama glory and money but not looking after the Pan.
Is de pan whey gone and the panman stay as Stalin warned. The Government paid to create G pan but failed to build out an industry.
Steelpan is all over the world, but we can’t even supply TT far less the global market.
So, they making steelpan in Japan, China, Europe and America. And all we doing is bawling.

And, that episode hardly over, another drama on the eve of the Trinidad Carnival. In the midst of the Panorama competition, almost the only event showcasing the steelpan in this Land of the Pan, controversy over a band wanting to change its tune of “choice” at the final stage.

In the Panorama, there is no test piece that is compulsory. There is no submission of music scores of the pieces to be played. There isn’t a rule for or against doing what this band wants to do.

There is history, though, of at least one other band in the 70’s and possibly 80’s doing exactly what Exodus wants to and the Pan Trinbago leadership (some of whom are associated with bands in the competition) is attempting to prevent them doing.

The risk may be greatest for the band switching its tune of choice and does not put others at a disadvantage.

The Panorama remains the one opportunity for Mr. Panman to demonstrate the excellence of the pan music in this Land of the Pan, but it is steeped in competitive rivalry.

The Panland Inc story and the Panorama controversy are both an opportunity for those in the leadership and all in the steelpan fraternity to re-examine and re-evaluate the direction in which Pan is heading.

Mr. Panmaker, Mr & Ms Pan Player and all interested in the instrument must not allow this opportunity to pass and direct the Pan Talent in a direction that demonstrates respect and care for the national instrument and its proponents.

No more lament. Make sure the pan and panman forge ahead together.

  • Regardless of the courts decision, Exodus must take the stage and perform "Savannah Grass". They have nothing to lose. The judges will judge what ever they play. If they place in the top three and Pan Trinbago chooses to disqualify them - De Beverley will not make it to end of the year as president.

Merrytones always remind us that cock roach have no business in fowl business. Beverley must now decide what she want to be - fowl, cock roach or gangsta.
