  • Ingrid, Thanks for your input. Every little bit helps.

    • Brenda, no problem.  I'm surprised I remembered so much about the court case but I attended because I thought it was important to be there for myself.  Poor Mark.  He tried his best to get answers from his questions because, by that time, the "mark had buss" about the cars but Keith just keep walking away from him.  Talk about dramas!

  • OMG - a topic just for me.  My 15 minutes of fame.

Claude, thanks for the video.  I was actually in Trinidad for this performance so I fully understand everything.  Despite me living in England, I go to Trinidad every year for Carnival so I will be there in 2018 ... pan or no pan!  In fact, I was in Trinidad this year and attended the court case on 9 February wearing my When Steel Talks t-shirt.  I must say the Executive came across as very intimidating so I can see how they got where they are today!

    • Ingrid: You went to the COURT CASE L-I-V-E and you never came back and gave us (EXPATS) a DETAILED REPORT?

      "INTIMIDATING" is an understatement!!!

      • Claude, I'm actually a newbie to the forum but I never thought to update everyone.

Yes, I was there, together with another colleague who played pan for Renegades this year.  I saw the information on the TV on the Tuesday giving all the details for the court case so I organised to attend on the Thursday.  I assumed it was a public hearing and so went along to hear the proceedings for myself.  I actually expected to see a lot of pan people in attendance, ie. standing room only but, apart from the media and the two organisations, it was just my friend and I.  I suspect they thought I was part of the media because of my t-shirt but it was very interesting.  The court case was basically to decide who would be in control of what over the Panorama/Carnival season (gate receipts etc.) and that both sides were due to return to court again in April to give a breakdown of the funds which were generated across the season and a Order was made to that effect.  Obviously, I am paraphrasing as it happened so long ago.  After the court case, both sides shook hands and spoke to the media.  However, Keith Diaz was extremely rude to the reporter Mark Bassant and wouldn't answer any of this questions, probably because of the issue with the cars.

As I said before, I listen to what everyone has to say but don't often comment because sometimes I feel out of my depth, especially when it comes to Trini politics.
