I don't think that we were expecting this major turnout at the ICP and I believe that most of the people were from abroad, that tells you that Panorama can stand by itself without Carnival.

Since Pan can stand on its own, we can have our own Panorama and Steelband on the road in AUGUST.

  • The problem I see is MARKETING, a Panorama in August can be very profitable, considering it’s the preferred vacation time across the globe; school is out, families going on vacation. The Junior Panorama should be included, this is the ideal time for school kids to participate in pan. No need to take down the panorama stage after the carnival.

    • Because of the amount of people in T&T for carnival panorama would never as successful any other time in terms of attendance.

  • Claude, Pan has risen, Bands want to work they need to come out and play their well rehearsed music. If you had the opportunity to experience Pan on the Avenue on 22nd August 2015, you would have seen what I am speaking of, especially if you were at the stage area. All bands big and small which include the single pan bands, were all great. We just need to have the means to run the programs and cover the band's expenses. The turn out will be massive because the crowds are thirsty, very thirsty for good pan music. Put that in yuh pipe and smoke it!

    • Carlyle: I smoked what you put in the pipe!!! Do you want a response?

    • Some of us deny it, Carlyle , but there is still an appetite for pan on the road in T&T , if done properly.

And we really have to work at creating a market if we want to talk about profits.

There are such things as traditions and culture, and there is no way to monetize the street parade , unless bands go back to t-shirts and band fees , even all inclusive road parties , which I actually think is a great idea.

    • Carlyle, as long as we can get a good turn out when "we have to Pay" and is not free. Pan on D ave always have a crowd, hope when we say Admission is so and so its the same,(Just saying)

  • Pan has always stood on its own.what iICP has shown is that can use it creating greater international expansion in tourism, pan people etc.lets think big ,sponsors during ICP what about steelbands paid concerts at select venues, all forms of music classic, jazz, reggae, Calypso ,you name it,they can play it (avenues for our players to express themselves and our music) .ICP has injected enthusiasm ,let take it to the top.we needed this exposure
  • Of Course! Steelband music has global appeal and reach beyond the limits of Carnival. WE Trinis are the ones holding pan back. The Steelband Music Festival back in the day showcased the awesome advances of pan as a musical instrument, but we stopped it. Some would argue that Carnival is the thing that is dying, not pan!

  • No.

Keep conventional bands in Carnival. Instead, put single pan at this time of year.

Cut down the time between semis and finals from two weeks to one - this way people flying in can more easily catch both events instead of having to choose. Same goes for international players who, guess what, now have a taste of the Savannah and will want to return for panorama 2016.

    • Noah, if they keep Conventional bands out I will not be going down there just to listen to Single Pan, that will be a Waste,
