Is Pan Trinbago’s PRO saying, no election until the auditor’s report?

By Aquil Arrindell

There has been a motif(short repeated line or phrase in music) coming from the photo- led executive for some time now. “Pan Trinbago can’t have an election without the auditor’s report”.  About two months ago, at a Morning Edition interview on national television, the PRO and the ERO’s reasons for not wanting early elections was that the constitution does not facilitate that, and the auditor’s report must be presented at an election. In spite of their opinion, the membership of PT held a meeting and voted the executive out anyway. As a result, the photo faction of the executive took the membership to court to challenge the decision which is still before the judge. However, as time draws closer to the constitutional time for elections, between September and October, the latter of the two excuses has now becoming their main reason why they should stay in office.

Mr. PRO, please indulge my humble opinion on your latest article; http://www.panonthenet.com/news/2018/aug/an-open-address-to-steelpan-people-everywhere-8-1-2018.htm

  1. You must know your audience, and in your case it is pan people. Therefore, your article is too long.

  1. Because you and the rest of the photo faction have not met with the membership for 2018 thus far, you have no authority to speak on behalf of Pan Trinbago as you are seriously out of touch with our needs.

  1. As the PRO of the organization, your responsibility is the protection and promotion of the image of the organization. Your articles and utterances of late on national television are doing the opposite. This was something you condemned Bryan Serrette for when he resigned and went on national television with the organization’s business. Immediately after that, I remember sitting at an executive meeting where Bryan Serrette was made persona non grata. Your views were that he should not have gone into the public domain but instead to our membership. You are the sitting PRO and are now doing the same, which is worse.

  1. All the things you are now saying about Mr. Diaz, we, the CIP, New Visionaries and Bryan Serrette have said for years at separate times. In the last two years we sang it as a choir. However, you and the photo faction have defended Mr. Diaz up until March 2018. That was only four months ago and before that, we watched you support all his wrong doings.

  1. Had the leader worked with his executive and cut the 2018 carnival budget across the board as was unanimously agreed at our executive meeting, all carnival monies would have been paid months ago with the pannist receiving seven hundred and fifty dollars remittance instead five hundred’.

This is a very political statement. Well done Mr. PRO. However, CIP member Gregory Lindsay, reported that the president announced that there will be no prize cuts after one of those unconstitutional meetings that you were comfortable with, as you sat at the head table, called by the executive of pan Trinbago, signed by the secretary. Were you not man enough then to either object or at least a day or two after, release a retraction or some form of notice to all members?

  1. The CIP’s position has not changed. The entire executive must go including Mr. Diaz. The CIP is not contesting the elections, however, there are members that might be interested in serving. We will encourage them, however, they will be doing so on there own accord.

  1. I am AGREEING with the PRO, that Mr. Diaz should not make any deals with the NCC unless they are ratified by the membership. And that goes for him and the photo faction as well. THIS EXECUTIVE SHOULD NOT MAKE ANY DEALS OR GIVE ANY CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBERSHIP as the membership has lost confidence in the entire executive.

As I close, the most important observation of all, is the theme of most of your articles, including this one. “NCC wants to take over Pan Trinbago”. At the 2016 AGM the membership was fed that story by the executive. The membership said we would send a message, no Panorama 2016 until all debts were paid. But instead of obeying the directive of the membership, the executive went ahead and sold out the membership. At the meeting where the executive decided to betray the mandate of the membership, Pablo and I advised against that and someone said “The tail don’t wag the dog and the executive is in charge now”.  Could you, Mr. PRO, remember whose words were they MR. PRO? As a result of betraying our trust, the membership will not stand with this present executive against NCC or any other organization.

So Mr. Joseph, you and this executive have failed the membership since then. Let us postpone the audit as has been done numerous times in the past and go ahead with the election. We all know PT has no money to pay auditors, not now and not any time soon. Let us have our election in the properly constituted time you and your crew fought tooth and nail to ensure. Then put on your cowboy hats boys and retire into the sunset with the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Your team in office has been a perfect example of keeping pan people in mental and financial slavery.

So, coming from you we will take your Happy Emancipation Day wishes with a pinch of salt.

  • Mr. claude, the CIP has become more than just a advocacy group. We are family now and I don't abandon family. We may fight, we may quarrel but we don't turn our backs on each other. But thanks for the advice doh. CIP till 2020!

  • Aquil: SINCE THE CIP is NOT INTO POLITICS -- THE CIP should LEAVE THE POLITICS ALONE.

KEITH DIAZ make mince meat out of YOU and GREGORY and OSWALD!!!

Thank you Mr Joseph. Oswald Alexander lashes back a Pan Trinbago’s PRO atricle.
" But those pannist agitated over five hundred dollars, are not interested in these relevant issues. Once they get the remittance, everything cool."
The Mandate of the October 28th AGM,2016 called for $1000.00. You are quite aware the Executive betrayed the mandate.

"All this is happening in an atmosphere where the head of our organization in not adhering to the democratic process of our constitution."

You know is the Executive that betrayed the 2016 AGM Mandate.

"Let me state publicly and clearly that I am not in favor of this great sellout. Only our membership could take that position, coming our of serious deliberations and consultation"

People selling out? ah wonder who......

    WST Feb. 23rd,2018
"Yuh preaching bro. Time for the cultural groups to unite or continue to suffer devided. The Min. Of Culture through the NCC, is trying to take control of something they don't quite understand, and using their political office to dictate to the practicioners of the arts. Money was never the catalyst that propelled our art form."

At the beginning of the 2016 AGM, the executive informed members that there is a plot to overtake PanTrinbago and asked the bands for their support. A hard hitting motion was moved and carried by the overwhelming majority of bands....."Strength in Numbers"
Mr Joseph an executive member,in his argument not to carry out a dictate of the AGM,stated "De tail cyar wag de dog" Want to guess who said that Mr Joseph?

    .......Who are dese SELL-OUTS?

"The constitution of Pan Trinbago has left no room for a dictatorship Hence the reason it states clearly that any action taken by the leader, must be ratified by the central executive."

"Emergency General Meeting on Saturday 7th January 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah"
And you Mr P.R.O was publicizing un-constitutional Emergency General Meetings, are you, were you, in cahoots?

"Ask members of the new visionaries, ask Bryan or the CIP members who he now have following him around with their tongues hanging out the sides of thair mouths believing that if they get into office they would revoke our membership."
I won't speak for new visionaires and/or Bryan, but CIP members have learnt from the mistakes that others made, and have chosen to be more fluid, but calculating in their approaches......if you choose to think of our tactics and strategies as "following him around with their tongues hanging out the sides" we are quite happy that you do so.

"Boycott Panorama 2018 is their mantra, although many of them have no Steel band to participate and those who have are already registered with Pan Trinbago waiting on the final call. These agent provocateurs spend their time on social media spreading lies and propaganda, tarnishing the image of committed officers and bringing them into public odium, disrepute and ridicule."

There was never a call for a boycott of Panorama 2018.The Execs was selling that lie to place CIP in a bad light with certain operatives, resulting in CIP members being threatened with physical harm by an executive member, arranger. At every meeting, the Executive denied CIP's Michael Marcano an opportunity to move a motion,to remove the present executive from managing the 2018 Panorama. Based on your recent pronouncements, it seems that we were quite correct in our assessment of the present executive competence.

    BEFORE!

    WST Nov.29 2016
"The present executive under the leadership of brother Keith Diaz, have embarked on an industrial, commercial and globalization thrust which is slowly but surely taking shape and getting off the ground. Only now to be distracted by an over ambitious individual who swears to stop at nothing to have his own way. He is not the first, and certainly would not be the last. "

    WST November,12 2017
"I, as an officer on this present central executive for little over two years now, have not seen, condoned, indulged in, encouraged or am a part of any corruption as indicated by those malicious reprobates who are hell bent on creating confusion, and inflicting maximum damage to an organ they aspire to lead."

    AFTER?

    WST August 1,2018

"The Central Executive cannot get a status report on our investment company to date? We are not aware of where our monies are, and what kind of investments are made on behalf members."

This along with other very damning accusations against Mr Diaz

What happened Mr Joseph, do you need a CIP membership form?

Mr Joseph, on my return as a band delegate to PanTrinbago,I have been asking probing questions as others did, and the entire executive have been quite silent,or have chosen to ridicule me for asking questions about the organizations assets and debits.

At the first meeting I attend there was talk about declaring some members "persona non grata" and I advised the meeting not to do so,and members agreed. After a couple months,on my return to TT,I found out the members were declared "persona non grata", I moved a motion to rescind that decision, and the members voted to rescind. I am quite aware that was not an action that pleased the present executive.

But go brave Mr Fiddler......Talk yuh Talk!

    •
