In the recent past , there have been many strong charges of fraud , theft and general corruption made against specific executives of Pan Trinbago on social media and other forums.
Whether these charges have any merit , is entirely beside the point.

Where the law is concerned , there must be solid proof ; you must prove your charges in a court of law.
If your claims cannot be substantiated , there are laws against slander and libel, which even criminals use when the courts are unable to prove their guilt.
That is why mainstream media is careful to use the term "alleged" when making charges against anyone accused , but not tried and found guilty.
Making unsubstantiated charges often lead to lawsuits.

Some may not know this , but the government certainly does.
And it seems obvious that their audit of Pan Trinbago ,while it may have shown some irregularities , was unable to find instances of provable theft or malfeasance.

Which is why they were careful to proclaim in their findings "mismanagement" instead of fraud , theft or corruption.
On a personal note , in my postings I've been careful to address the "alleged" corruption of executives in Pan Trinbago in generalities , since I may believe , but I do not know , and have no proof.

People , even the guilty ones , will go to extreme lengths to protect their reputation.

And my friends ,word to the wise :
Do not think that the relative anonymity provided by social media protects you. To quote something I read on the internet ,"Social media has become a liability landmine".

I'm not surprised that there are lawsuits in our current situation ; it was almost to be expected once the audit didn't find any criminal activity , it was just a matter of who was to be sued.

Usually its the one with the "deepest pockets".

And , BTW a forum such as this one is also not immune .

  • Glenroy please read the releases of Michael L. Joseph the current PRO of Pan Trinbago over the past two years.

In "Pan Trinbago, From One Crisis to the Next" Joseph says the president of Pan Trinbago is being influenced by a wizard. In “Mr. Keith Diaz (President of Pan Trinbago), is and has always been...  he accuses the president of 'nefarious behavior'. In another release Joseph writes - Saddening, Maddening and Frightening, is the only way to describe t....

And of course there are all the public statements and releases from Keith Diaz about the members of the executive.

Sounds like they are both calling each other crooks.

    bugs

    • Bugs , I read the statement from Scobie and you're right he made some serious charges, especially about the circumstances surrounding the sale of panorama tickets .

Wasn't that issue in the report though ? And they still called it mismanagement ?

Actually , those actions seemed more unethical than illegal.

Guys , we could say whatever we wish here , but as long as the government is claiming "mismanagement" instead of criminality , little could be done through the court system.

    • bugs: Just another allegation!!! Ah wonder if MICHAEL JOSEPH just make up all these accusations of CORRUPTION out of the blues to TAINT DIAZ IMAGE. And how come KEITH DIAZ eh taking Michael Joseph to court like Darren Sheppard trying to do with AQUIL ARRINDELL and GREGORY LINDSAY?

"And while you are at it, tell us what became of the over three thousand complimentary tickets you took from the suppliers for Panorama 2018 at a cost of over $1,150,650, 00, and the financial statement for Champs In Steel Plus that you had taken full control of all ticketing and sales. Tell us why Single Pan bands were paid unknown to the Executive. This Executive will be blamed for condoning your nefarious behavior, but we choose to fight from within, unlike most who worked with you in the past and run. Some members are now pretending they don't know the extent of your greed which is responsible for most of the organization financial predicaments. But, it will not continue come hell or high waters."

Sounds like skullduggery more than MISMANAGEMENT to me!!!

  • I agree with you Glenroy. However there is a serious concern about mismanagement of especially government intervention of State funds. Although no actual proof of fraud or theft were discovered by the auditors, mismanagement opens the door to fraud and theft. All auditors are are trained to know this without committing themselves. That is not the porfolio of any auditing firm on this planet. Their job is not necessarily to discover fraud or theft like a police detective agency but to discover mismanagement, misappropriation of funds and accounts and to give an opinion on the general accounting mismanagement and finances of an organization. It is still a serious offense in terms of public funds and public trust. The members of Pan Trinbago must make a firm decision to correct this mismanagement which is not to be taken lightly. Otherwise fraud and theft can and will abound.
