In 1989, together with the late Dexter Simon (ask Carlon Harewood about the injustice he did to that man on his dying bed, and remind him that God doh sleep), the indomitable Sister Rosario Hackshaw and the tireless "Monkey Bone", with the help of the late Leroy Thomas of Moods, brought a school steelband from Matelot against all odds, yes Matelot, to the schools steelband festival in Port of Spain. In 1992 together with the then chairman of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Roger Boynes, and with the advice of the late Mr Abdullah we staged the successful "Pan In The Grand" (ask Curtis Edwards from Desperadoes a bonafide allround exponent of the steelpan art form) featuring some of the nations top steelbands, without the help of the government, or state funds).
