Greetings to my comrades in the pan fraternity. It is time for a new generation to be at the helm of Pantrinbago. People with energy ,vigour, progressive ideas. People who are restless and wouldn't use ,for example the covid 19 plandemic as an excuse to rest on their laurels to continue to work with and for their members. We are in the internet age where you can order almost anything and have it delivered to your doorstep.
Let's look at this scenario. Two foreign steelbands want an order of 100 tenors each in 2 weeks time , can Pantrinbago fill that order or will they be scrambling, calling tuners left ,right and centre? Every tuner has lost out on income because if the cancellation of panorama 2021.
A sharp leader would've used this opportunity to call in all the tuners and employ them to make pans to supply to the stockpile in the pan Factory owned to by Pantrinbago so that you will be killing two birds with one stone ; providing work for your tuners and making sure you have inventory so when things return to normal you are in a much better position so supply bands locally and abroad.
In the meantime we advertise the product on the internet maybe at a discount. THAT is how progressive leaders operate. What about calling in the arrangers and band leaders , and instructing them to make CDs with let's say 10 tunes and again selling it on the internet on behalf of the bands , there can be a profit sharing agreement so that Pantrinbago can make money as well as the bands involved.
THAT is how progressive leadership operate. They turn a set back into an opportunity. As I said we need a new generation of leadership.
People like Carlon Harewood should be given a chance to be president of Pantrinbago. Young , energetic and progressive.
