SANTIAGO DE CUBA.-With a fruitful work recorded during the 30 years of its creation, Steel Band del Cobre already has credentials in the musical taste of Cubans, and particularly among outstanding performers of the country, who recognize the uniqueness of that timbre of timbre with high tuning the members extract their instruments formed by metal drums.
Many have been the highlights of the band, including the one in which they performed the Ave Maria de Schubert for Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity;another, the mini-concert offered by the professional group and its version of children fond of President Miguel Díaz-Canel, during his visit to the territory. Also noteworthy are the numerous presentations at festivals, carnivals and other popular festivities that traditionally claim and cheer their attendance.
When his performance at the Jazz Plaza in Havana still resonates, and after recording for Cándido Fabré at the Siboney Studios of the EGREM, the music of the songs Cuba loves you and Ula ula, the band of the maestro Hermes Ramírez Silva heats the metals for a video of the international We are the world, in the Gran Piedra, several proposals by Erik Iglesias (Cimafunk), and the Caribbean Festival of July coming.
SANTIAGO DE CUBA.–Con un fructífero trabajo registrado durante los 30 años de creada, la Steel Band del Cobre presenta ya credenciales en el gusto musical de los cubanos, y particularmente entre destacados intérpretes del país, que reconocen la singularidad de ese timbre amarimbado que con alta afinación extraen los integrantes a sus instrumentos formados por bidones metálicos.
Muchos han sido los momentos cumbre de la banda, entre ellos aquel en que interpretaron el Ave María de Schubert para el Papa Benedicto XVI en su visita al Santuario de la Virgen de la Caridad; otro, el miniconcierto ofrecido por la agrupación profesional y su versión de niños aficionados al Presidente Miguel Díaz-Canel, en su visita por el territorio. Destacan también las numerosas presentaciones en festivales, carnavales y otros festejos populares que tradicionalmente reclaman y ovacionan su asistencia.
