Laventille honours its own

After a great performance at the Barclay Centre in New York City on Old Year’s Night, international recording artist, pannist, arranger and producer Robert Greenidge flew into Trinidad on Sunday morning.

Greenidge was honoured with an Award of Excellence for his dedication, service and contribution to the steelband movement by the Music Makers School of Laventille.

Run by Merle Albino DeCoteau, Music Makers dedicated their 2015 Graduation and Awards Ceremony held at City Hall on Sunday afternoon to Greenidge.

Greenidge is extremely happy with the award he received; he said it was very nice of DeCoteau put it all together. “Actually we grew up across the street from each other in Laventille and I will do anything I can to help the Music School.
