Panorama is much more than a music competition. It is a phenomenon that mirrors life experiences and values. You can experience exhilarating joy, to cold numbing pain, heartbreak and disillusion - all in one season - for an eight-minute performance. In an instant you can go from the heat of the moment with the glare of the dazzling and blinding spotlights of the big stage in the Queen's Park Savannah, to a darkened, cold, and empty panyard.

But in between there are the lessons that will follow and shape you for a lifetime - dedication, commitment, respect, loyalty, discipline, responsibility, trust, rewards, failure, leadership, true friendship, legacy and survival.

  • I heard RG take a solo for the first time with Despers in the hollows
It was the late sixties and the song was 'girl from ephanema'.
He was very young and already a star front line player in a star studded band.
His dedication is nothing new and his loyalty to Deaperadoes and steelpan music
Should never be questioned. He has experienced everything mentioned in your
Article . This is a guy who has been to the mountaintop in the music world, obviously made money,
has gold+platinum awards. Yet this high achiever religiously comes back to the Mecca ( his roots)
and gives us his best every year and yet some of us don't appreciate what he does.
Thank you RG for being the humble man, great ambassador, exquisite player.
Most of all thank you for being a TRUE DESPERADO

  • Can some one please tell me how come Starlift's performance both at Prelims and Semis was not posted on this site
    • Hello Allima

WST member ODW posted Starlift's semi finals performance in Videos on this past Monday. Claude has re-post their video just for you. Please post their preliminary performance if you have access to it.

  • I really have to say,I know Robert Greenidge personally, and he is a truly a great ambassador of Pan,and Trinbago."Who God Bless No Man Curse"Stay Strong Robert.BLESSINGS.
  • PREACH STANLEY PREACH!  61/2 MINUTES WINS THE PRELIMINARIES. BOOGSIE HAS 80 PERCENT OF THE OLD TIME'' LAVWE''in the arrangement and everyone is lapping it up....... And 99 percent says he win already. You absolutely spot- on about Robert. Desperadoes would have suffered the same fate [as Starlift] had he arranged for them.

  • Finally, a positive story out of Panorama. If you know Robbie and Andre personally, you would not be surprised. They are what they are......decent.

  •  Desperadoes 2012 Panorama Semi-Finals...Prophet of Pan
    Arranged by Andre White.

    • Hard luck Andre…both the judges and in 'Radoes got this one wrong….

    • Thanks odw.Very talented young arranger not being judged by his skills. But by his nationality. What a shame!!!!!

      • For all the haters please take time to listen to the commentary by the distinguished ,arranger composer . pan historian.Mr Alvin Daniel. I rest my case.
