Sweet tune for pan but ! also-ran
Ok Mia you have accomplished a lot here, the only girl in the boys locker room, don't be afraid to hold up your head, they are all the same, now time to kick ass.
I like the 30 second breakdown from 2:58. And I like the balance of the PANS. And I like the fidelity to the original melody. And I like the sense of controlled organization coming from the music. But this is a year with SHARK INFESTED PAN YARDS so the competition is MERCILESS!
Congrats Mia. keep up the good work don't let Patrick's remark's hold you back, keep reaching for the stars.
Earl Richards, you got it all wrong. Please, I have all respect for pan arrangers, but when come to panorama competition is a different detail. The training wheels are off at this time, if you believe is OK to help Mia up and wipe her face with a warm towel, fine, but I am looking at the value, winning this panorama 2017 just as Boogsie and Smooth Edwards sees.
Nice figure of speech, Patrick: "The training wheels are off at this time" bring yuh BULLDOZER and mash down the stage.
Much respect Patrick..
Mi Amigo; Que pasa ? don't mean to be disrespectful or rude, and I know that in accordance with the T&T and U.S. Constitution, U/everyone are entitled to there own opinion, and I respect that but, what are U hearing or listening too? what i'm hearing is dissonance/noise, more of the same, these arrangers men and women, do not know how to state a team in a musical piece, counter melody, ( lousa pausa) means play the pauses, which implement's the phrasing of the melody, or know what a minim is, or a quaver, or even a semiquaver, and a hemedemisemiquaver is to be played, they R confused and as 4 these judges, I don't know what their judging criteria is or going to be, they can't even play the steel pan instrument, maybe they can play a piano or a guitar but not a pan, much less judge it, that is Y the steel pan sphere is in the RUT, they don't have the vision what the instrument is about, or know where it is to go, like myself and Anthony Williams has said before, pan is in a coma, a deep sound sleep, MIA has a LOT to learn, and that takes time, lot's of time...
You are all criticism but have no argument....lets criticize you and you can't even spell the word...classic music training is not a requirement for music genius....(see Boogsie Sharpe, James Brown etc...). And Mia is well qualified...as you should know. You don't have to play a pan to be a judge.
When Michael Jordan played B-ball he had a coach. Do we know the name of his coach?.......not really, but we know M.J. and what he was all about. With music the same applies as a judge. Judges know what to look for or listen to, he or she does not have to be steeped in the skill or proficient in the application of being a Panist.
I HOPE LIKE HELL that the JUDGES put them ON STAGE on PANORAMA NIGHT.
