Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - The small and medium steelbands preliminaries in Pan Trinbago’s national steelband Panorama competition took place Thursday night at Arima Velodrome. It was too long and made nonsense of this year’s Panorama theme “The Evolution of Pan”.
The event which saw bands in the eastern region competing, ran for eight hours finishing at 3.30 a.m.
The organisers used one gate on the eastern side of the velodrome for both entry and exit of the bands. This caused long delays in the programme.
The small bands segment ran well with bands going around the track in a clockwise direction. The sixteen bands worked the track to their advantage. The medium bands however just entered the gate and stopped to go on stage.

well it is not the first time and am sure would not be the last
it is like petrotrin getting an award the other day for the environment- lol
Those who attended will know that one of the main reasons for the delays was the "RAIN" had absolutely nothing to do with Pan Trinbago. RAIN IMPEDED the smooth run. I know now to take some of the things on WST with a pinch of salt. But people like to have someone to "BLAME".
Pan Trinbago are not angels and they have a problem like ALL people in TRINBAGO nothing start on time. HALF HOUR this year means a certain amount of progress Last night we even left early from P-O-S, Well I also know that sometimes WST depends on the honesty of other person who may not have attende the function. The only place I did not go to this year is Tobago.
Sarah-Ann, We at WST call it as we see it, this news article was from the T'dad Express and they did not mentioned anything bout the Rain, from their information it seems that the main fault was the Organisers, "The organisers used one gate on the eastern side of the velodrome for both entry and exit of the bands. This caused long delays in the programme". So I think that WST Members does a hell of a good job analyzing situations even when not in Attendance.
Bede: Sarah-Ann is telling you to take a pinch of salt with you when you go to the UWI NEWSPAPERS LIBRARY to read those 4000 articles.
Reading those 4000 articles will need more than ah Pinch, it will be like reading the Bible and decide on which Version you want to Believe in.
I am not neccessarily saying that they do not do a good jjob but sometimes it is good to look in to a thing, the news papers are on a mission to critize anything Pan if that was a part so was the rain. By the way the south Panorams starts at 4pm today.
Sarah-Ann,
Not too many people come to the defense of PanTrinbago, This time we'll blame GOD. lol
Enjoy south Panorama today.
Thanks Sarah-Ann, we look forward hearing your Comments on WST since you will be in Attendance
This was a PanTrinbago production.
Cecil: I nominating you to go down to Trinidad and straighten out all this INCOMPETENCE!!!
