An arrangement of a musical composition is a reworking of a piece of music so that it can be played by a different instrument or combination of instruments from the original. The lavway that Phase 2 is playing is in the Original piece of music, so it can't be counted as arrangement.Still don't get it?
gotten back to a much deserved spot where they truly belong. This band has weathered many
storms.The passing of Charlo, Bradley, Gunga, the loss of their ancestral home and a general
public sentiment that they still could play but would probably never (or in the near future) regain
the status they once held.Tonight they got back to the winners row with a really great and unbeatable
performance. All the bands played great and the country must thank them all for coming up roses
In spite of a very short season. What I miss most is not being there in Trini to celebrate this humbling
victory by the Raddoes.The first time was certainly the charm for Carlton Z. The Raddoes Nation is blessed to have
you and all those who went before you.
Why would 8 bars of a melody interspersed into an almost 8 minute presentation evoke suck emotion?
If it's in place it's fine. If you really believe that in those couple of lines make a such a big difference to the tune, then you have not been listening.
This Madd Music is realms away from anything anybody else has for Panorama present or past, including Boogsie.
It will mark a huge turning point in Panorama music.
What happened right after Semis is that everyone, from Smooth down, went and tweaked their work and added lines to compensate.
You have to stick with traditional music as the back bone of the tune and enhance it with modern flair. That's what Boogsie is great at.
I must say that tonight tell the tears and separate boys from the men. Tonight promise to be a a musical night. Ten bands will be taking part in the large band category. However, the judges are going to have a hard time judging this competition. phase 2 is leading the competition coming out of the semi-finals. But we have to keep our eyes on the defending champion Trinidad All stars and not forgetting Renegades and Desperadoes. Supernovas can cause an upset also,they came out of the semi-finals in second place just 2.5 points behind of phase 2 pan groove. in my estimation" bogsie" should do well tonight.
The "longtime lavway" is evident in the presentations of almost ALL the bands in the finals. Is ah good ting is not ANDY NARELL sayin' so. Lack of creativity is what it is. Ah now standin' in my shoes and wondering if we should move forward.
Not so yuh know patrick ramdoo…there is nothing new under the sun where music is concerned…this is a classic case of familiarity breeding contempt…there is nothing wrong with what Boogsie did…the "F" jam is a calypso music device available to anyone who chooses to use it…again..listen to the effect created by cutting the bass off where he did…that alone made all the difference..
That Longtime Lavway is the most popular piece of Trini music, bands have been playing it every year from the 50s to now.
That "longtime lavway" sits on the chord progression of 1-4-1-5….which is the crux of all indigenous folk music worldwide…it's a kinda "natural" chord progression…It is also commonly referred to as the "F" jam…(well, when played in the key of "F")...
