A most unique arrangement, especially because the recording is so FULL OF MUSIC.
Kitchener's voice does not come in until 1:04 in the song. So for the traditional calypso lover/listener it seems like an eternity. and then he only sings (verse and hookline) to about 1:30 in the song (26 seconds) before we go back to the HORNS and that second musical segment goes until 2:24 (almost another full minute of pure music). Kitchener comes back in again and sings until 2:50 (another 26 seconds). The music then comes back in and goes for almost another minute until 3:44.
Once again Kitchener comes in for a short spell with the vocals (and the lyrical climax to his AUDREY obsession) until 4:09 at which point the music comes back in with a long VAMP OUT where everything is mixed into one MUSICAL BUNDLE until we get to 6:05.
PLENTY DANCE MUSIC in Kitchener's first entry into SOCA -- with limited lyrics. Most of the credit for this song should go to the arranger ED WATSON -- but that is another story!!!
