Every time I ever hear ah TRINIDAD PAN ARRANGER (or even some YANKEE SCHOOL ARRANGER) try to play a song like this in a STEELBAND ah does always CUT THEM OFF because they DRAG THE SONG and make it move like a HEARSE in a FUNERAL.
This is the FIRST TIME I have ever heard a MUSIC ARRANGER move BEYOND THE DRAG and deliver the song. Don't talk about the BALANCE OF THE INSTRUMENTS and the OVERALL AMBIANCE in the reproduction of THE ORIGINAL.
Makes me MORE UPSET about what the LOCAL ARRANGERS do in a PANORAMA SONG trying to make it EUROPEAN like this.
BLACK PAN PLAYERS MATTER when it comes to PLAYING A CALYPSO on A CARNIVAL SATURDAY NIGHT in the LAND OF CALYPSO and THE MECCA OF THE STEELBAND!!!!

I heard THIS VIDEO for the first time last night and then I proceeded to listen to it about ten times. I got up this morning and gave it one more listen. Now I have decided that is the GREATEST MUSICAL PERFORMANCE I have ever heard from ANY STEELBAND.
