Members of Hatters Steel Orchestra were deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of their lead Stage Side 4 Cello player, ‘Fat Man’ Luke, when the news came in at their Panorama practice on Wednesday night.
‘Fat Man’ Luke, a past Captain of the band and a member of the executive, was a long standing elder of the band and much admired for his good hand at the cooking pot, and his warm wit around the band. Luke would often run general rehearsals and his unrivalled capacity to ‘take the music’ for the 4 cello line, placed him as the 4 cello section leader.
‘Fat Man’ Luke passed at San Fernando general hospital, in the afternoon, after some complications.
A child and long resident of Roy Joseph Scheme, San Fernando, Luke ‘Fat Man’ Patrick will warmly be remembered and sadly missed.
Hatters Steel Orchestra extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Luke ‘Fat Man’ Patrick.
Thanks for being there ‘Fat Man’, RIP my good brother of Pan.
