The 2008 Trinidad & Tobago Panorama Champions, Phase II Pan Groove, are on track once more for 2009, with another great composition by their legendary arranger/composer - Len “Boogsie” Sharpe, called Magic Drum.
It is a collaboration between Sharpe and soca star Machel Montano. The steelpan community is buzzing with anticipation as Montano represents one of the more popular Caribbean performers today. The potential to put a ‘pan song’ back into the popular musical forum is intriguing.

Love this tune. Boogsie is a natural master so when I heard this in Panorama I thought He won. for me tenor pans don't do anything but the overall sound and ochestration there is no one not andy narrell no one that can touch Len. Hands down a crazy arrangement by Len.
Once again the grand arranger of pan.
It is wonderful to hear that more popular soca artistes are returning to what to many still is a major part of Carnival and more importantly Trinbago culture, - with clean, fun lyrics and tantilizing, springy, hypnotic, driving, totally amazing steel pan.
Keep on composing your music my brother you are still the best at what you do regardless of what these ignorant critics have to say. No more Sparrow No more kitchener arrangers ketchin dey ass to get a tune for panorama. We saw this coming since back in the seventies.
