Major Cash Injection for Panorama
Antigua & Barbuda, W.I. - Sixty thousand dollars has been injected into the Panorama competition ahead of the 2011 Carnival celebrations. The Antigua Commercial Bank (ACB) made the donation to representatives of the Carnival Development Committee (CDC) on Monday.
Deputy Chairperson of the CDC Wanda Clarke, in her brief overview of the pan art form and its place in the Carnival history, explained that over the past five years, Panorama has seen tremendous growth, with increased participation from individuals, demonstrating the growth of the steel bands.
....She lauded the bank’s efforts, particularly in these hard economic times, and commended the institution for bearing its “patriotic duty” in the support of Panorama. “By supporting the Panorama competition, the Antigua Commercial Bank is also supporting our young people…who have taken leading roles in many of the steel bands in Antigua,” she said.
