Wonderful! Reminds me of my teaching tenure in Botswana from 1999 to 2007. Where I not only prepared Mis Universe 1999, Umpole Kwalagobe, to play my country, Trinidad & Tobago's National Instrument, - The STEELPAN - in preparing her for the competition in Port of Spain.
I was the first person to merge the steelpans with the marimbas which was a hit not only within the schools but also at national events in Gabarone and the surrounding districts. I also reintroduced stiltwalking to Southern Africa as only the older folks knew anything about Mokojumbies ... after founding the Kaisokah Mokojumbies in Trinidad I extended the branch to Botswana. SOS Children's Village in Tlokweng were also benefactors to this.
