Pan Trinbago president Beverly Ramsey-Moore says moves are afoot to host the medium-band category of next year's Panorama competition in her native Tobago.
Ramsey-Moore told Sunday Newsday she met recently with Tobago House of Assembly (THA) secretary for Tourism, Culture and Transportation Nadine Stewart-Phillips, and that possibility was one of the major items on the agenda.
Ramsey-Moore, who became Pan Trinbago president in October, has expressed her intention to push for a change in the format of the Panorama finals, mainly because of the length of the competition. She said if Tobago hosted a category of the Panorama final on the island, it would represent a significant shift in the organisation's flagship event, held annually on Carnival Saturday at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain.

If BEVERLEY want to do SOMETHING for TOBAGO she should pick about 5 (FIVE) PAN PLAYERS from TOBAGO and groom them for the GLOBAL PAN MARKET. Then she picks the BEST TWO and use the DIPLOMATIC CAPITAL that an organization like PAN TRINBAGO offers and get them out there representing TRINIDAD and TOBAGO.
When it comes to putting a LOCAL PAN MAN out on the INTERNATIONAL STAGES -- I doh care if they come from CARONI or LAVANTEE or CHARLOTTEVILLE or WESTMOORINGS ... ah just want to see a TALENTED and DIPLOMATICALLY POLISHED player from TRINIDAD and TOBAGO out on THE WORLD STAGE showcasing THE PAN before ah end up in THE CEMEHTREE.
BEVERLEY: Ah ready to support you on THIS PROJECT. I could interview the candidates and tell who have the right PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE to handle the WORLD STAGE. And the right PLAYING STYLE on THE PAN as well as educational background and communications skills and writing skills and humility and will to handle the ROAD and things like that.
To be a GLOBAL PAN AMBASSADOR it takes a whole lot more than just being able to PLAY THE PAN!!!
How many bands will have to travel to Tobago? this could be more than 7 when you look at the cost of transport and accommodation you have to answer if it's worthwhile, even outside of carnival.. After 6 months in power the Pres. has manage to have her admin. sold on the idea, she's good----------------------for Tobago..
It will be less costly if they pick all the Tobago bands in the finals.

Six months in office and the new Pres has manage to secure the winningest arranger for her band in Tobago, and convince people that it's a good idea to have the medium bands in Tobago. Good work...

This might be a good idea, You can't ask for more money when you owe somewhere between 32 and 60 million dollars unless you are Rolly Polly and the gangstas.
- plus very few people will fly to Trinidad to attend a medium band Panorama. Even the locals don't attend the medium band Panorama. But a medium band Panorama in Tobago outside of Carnival is intriguing..

This is a PANORAMA PRESIDENT -- that is all she could think about.
And it have so much money in TRINIDAD but she have to run back to THE THA to get money from them.
That is some real BACKWARD THINKING!!! PAN is MORE THAN PANORAMA!!!
