This is Kadesh Johnathan Clouden -- Contestant in the 2020 INTERNATIONAL PAN RAMAJAY 2020 COMPETITION representing TRINIDAD and TOBAGO. He is a 21-year-old Pannist, Arranger, Composer, and Educator. He recently completed his undergraduate degree and is very proud to stand as a graduate from the University of Trinidad and Tobago, Class of 2020 attaining a Bachelor's in Fine Arts Music with the STEELPAN as his MAIN INSTRUMENT.

KADESH has been playing pan for the past thirteen years and is a proud member of Shell Invaders Steel Orchestra.

As we transition through THIS NEW SENSE OF NORMALCY, KADESH is thankful for the opportunity to participate in the 2020 International Pan Ramajay Competition where he hopes to gain exposure and the platform to apply what he learnt over the last few years studying under DOCTOR MIA GORMANDY!!!

Earlier on this year KADESH had the opportunity of meeting and performing alongside an amazing internationally recognized group called Sō Percussion. He reveled in the experience of meeting a group of musicians who were traveling the world exploring and playing contemporary pieces. This was eye-opening and quite interesting and mesmerizing to him to witness -- as it opened his mind to new horizons and to his own possibilities. He now looks  forward to the day that he too can be a part of a group like this exploring new pieces and sharing them with audiences near and far.

Last year he shared the spotlight with NYU student Christian Melhado and his STEELPAN instructor Dr Mia Gormandy-Benjamin at the NYU Steel Spring Concert performing Flight of the Bumblebee(s).

KADESH JOHNATHAN is a part of the YOUNG STEELBAND BRIGADE which promises to take STEELPAN MUSIC from the shores of TRINIDAD and TOBAGO to the FAR CORNERS OF THE GLOBE.

Let us all wish him THE BEST OF PERFORMANCE in the 2020 INTERNATIONAL PAN RAMAJAY COMPETITION.
