  • Very nice article keep following your dreams and love for the instruments you are an inspiration stay strong
  • Thanks for this interview.  What a wonderful career you have created for yourself, due to your hard work and talent,

and good education from Dr. Manette.  I like that you seized every opportunity and exceeded expectations. Awesome.

  • Cheers Emily. Your Interview was inspirational and historical. It has carried tuning, arranging and playing pan a notch upwards. With people like you(studied) and Manish(Michael Robinson),(creative), the younger generation, I have no fear for the future of Pan. You may not understand the petty rivalries that exist between different bands  but Kim Johnson explains this historically in his books on Pan. When you played the quads in Silver Stars, I think it was the 1st time Edwin introduced these pans for the winning panorama tune "first in de line" and I could not forget the celebrations at the panyard afterwards when we played the song over and over 'til dawn. Strange that the Ray Holman composition, Sagna, or Silver Stars "shock attack" by Edwin, was not well received by the judges at Panorama final night this year; a lot of people thought otherwise. While Phase 11 clinched the win with "more love", we need an upgrade in the judging department at Panorama!

All the best in the future

  • Hi Emily congratulations on your journey into the world of Steel band music and instruments. If you have not as yet I would you to explore, the classical side of steel band music. I would like to suggest you try and get a recording of Casablanca's '1812 Overture' from the 1982 Steel Band Music Festival in T&T I can garuantee you that it will blow you mind. There are many others but this is a good one to start with. I wish you all the best in your continued efforts and may God continue to guide and bless you. A hearty thank you for all your work with the steel band Love you, Brian
