““At the Feet of the Masters” is beyond just an interview or conversation. It has truly been a spiritual experience, for with each master, the realization deepens that those among us who rise to iconic status, are called to something much bigger than themselves, and in obedience they have followed.” Nandi Keyi. read more

Well, I am one of the faithful who will come out again for Master Flag Woman Janet Lewis' salute on Friday 6.29.12 at 1367 Utica Avenue, Brooklyn NY @ 8 pm. I have lived through the reign of Dr. Slinger (The Mighty Sparrow). I own a set of double second pans made by Mannette Ltd and I attend summer workshops by Ellie Mannette and Kaethe George. I bought music from Charlie's Records. But I always wanted to know the "how" and see behind the scenes. Thank you Sister Nandi Keyi for fulfilling one of my visions. For without your hard work and persistence at each one of the 'At The Feet of The Masters" I would never "get to find out." See you and Khali this coming Friday night! Blessings All Around you for the extension of this series and the up-liftment of our people.
It is sad that we are not more in touch with our own. I guarantee you if you had a master series featuring Andy Narell, you would have to have two sessions to cope, such would have been the response from "our people"...
Nandi, thanks for all this hard work, it will pay off in spades. I feel so happy that you have followed your spirit to do this, that is God really leading you to an even higher purpose. This is the right time and the icons are still here to be able to present themselves that people can learn. Many people think they know so many well known icons, entertainers, etc. those who have made an impact in some form, but do they truly know them through the struggles and hardships to the pain and suffering to bring their gifts to life? I always say that we should recognize these and the other greats while they are still alive, not wait until they die to say what they have contributed to the world at large. I would like to talk to you about another forum, I believe you will be pleased. I am sorry I was not able to be there, it would have been a fantastic journey. One thing I wish for is that more of our people would come out to events like this that does not have anything to do with a jam, carnival or wine down, they would learn so much more and their lives will be lifted and more learned. Keep up the great work and don't let anyone "Rain on your parade". The ones who have nothing to contribute always have a lot to say, just keep going, this is necessary and beautiful.

Beautiful work, Ms. Keyi,
