Lauderhill, FL – September 18, 2024 – Miami Carnival is set to present its highly anticipated annual Miami Broward Panorama in Lauderhill, hosted by Visit Lauderdale and powered by Carib on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium (3700 NW 11th PL, Lauderhill, FL 33311), from 4 PM to 11 PM. As a cornerstone event of Miami Carnival Weekend, Panorama is a must-see musical spectacle that celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of South Florida. Tickets are available at miamicarnival.org.
Produced by the Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee (MBOCH), this signature event has evolved into a multicultural and international Caribbean percussion music extravaganza. It encapsulates the authentic Caribbean spirit that defines South Florida's vibrant cultural scene and connects us to a global community.
This year's competition will feature the best steel bands, including New Generation Branches, Metro Steel Orchestra, Lauderhill Steel Ensemble, Melo Groove Steel Orchestra, Resurrection Steel Orchestra, Genfusion Steel Orchestra (formerly St. Thomas Junior Allstars), Sticks "N" Tones Steel Orchestra, and Elite Pan Stars Academy. Excitement is mounting for the upcoming performances by Trinidad All Stars and Newtown Playboys Steel Symphony.

Originating in Trinidad and Tobago, steel drums hold a special place in music history as the only new percussion instrument invented in the 20th century. Trinidad's first Panorama event occurred in 1963 and has since become a cherished tradition in the Caribbean, the United States, and Europe.
Miami Broward Carnival's Panorama kicks off a weekend filled with exciting events, including J'Ouvert on October 12 and the grand Parade of Bands and concert on Sunday, October 13. This celebrated competition attracts audiences of all ages, creating a multigenerational experience. At Panorama, people from all walks of life celebrate the steel drum, a tradition that resonates with everyone.
Experts from South Florida, Trinidad and Tobago, and other Caribbean islands deeply rooted in the steelpan tradition will judge the competition. Bands' arrangement, performance, tone, and rhythm will be evaluated. Lauderhill Steel Ensemble, the reigning champions for the past three years, will return to defend their title. The judging process is rigorous and fair, ensuring that the best steel band is crowned the winner.
