In the 1968 Steelband Panorama, there were (12) Bands in the Semi-finals. Out of the (12) Bands in the Semi-finals, Six bands Tune of Choice were "Miss Tourist", The Bands were, Casablanca, City Syncopators, Dixieland, Savoys, Silver Stars, and Tripoli,
(7) Bands were selected for the Finals and three of the Bands that played "Miss Tourist" were in the Finals, they were City Syncopators, Dixieland and Tripoli.
That year Harmonites won with "The Wrecker", 2nd was Starlift and Dixieland ran 3rd with "Miss Tourist". Silver Stars did not even make the finals, Did Silver Stars played their "Miss Tourist " different from what we have been hearing all these years?.
How many of us heard Dixieland Miss Tourist?
I am just saying, if Silver Stars arrangement was the same it means then that the best Tune that is being played sometimes does not even make the finals.
(I myself cannot remember the arrangement of Miss Tourist that was played by Silver Stars in the Semi-finals but I might want to bet that it was rearranged after the Semi-finals)
Note, BTW, Harmonites was the best thing at the Finals with the Wrecker.

To the old heads, Can you all remember when Silver Stars used to do their recording of their Carnivals tunes, they had the Best Recordings, Especially the Bass?
