MURDER IN THE MECCA...

This is not a pan topic but it should be of concern to most of us because of the connection we have with the Mecca.

The murder of Ms Seetahal is proof of a well organize group that's calling the shots in T&T, from the Arms, Drugs, Money-laundering to the steelband off the road and bear breasted women carnival day, there is a New Island Order running things in the Mecca and the powers that be don't have a clue of how to deal with it.

It is a sad day when you realize that people can order a "hit" on anyone's life.

Silence will only enable these people to do what they do and get away with it but if people speak out against what's going on who knows what could happen, it's the least and the most we can do.

  • Listen up all yuh.  Trinidad as you knew it changed FOREVER in 1990, when that Muslim Imam was allowed to survive and go free after his failed attempt to overthrow the legitimate government.  At that point the young people of TT lost all respect for law and order(police and justice system). They realized then, that  they could terrorize society with the gun (especially under an Islamic façade) and the authorities would back off or accommodate them. So what we have now is a country overflowing with guns in a culture of committed corruption.  Welcome to T&T in the 21st. century.

    • masai,

I hear all that you are saying but no society can afford to give in to crime. The Government must now come up with  plans to go after the major players in the Trini underworld, if they want to find out who they are ask Cro Cro and Chalkie, they know about everything that go on in T&T.

      • We want a under cover unit to keep tabs on our Muslim bros. and all known King Pins.

        • A high profile person was killed last week and there was much said about it, nearly every day others die the same way and it goes by almost u-noticed. Every life has value and none of us has the right to end life. Let us continue to speak up and speak out against MURDER IN THE MECCA with the hope that the powers that be  engage in a war against those that want to make our country a killing field.

          • Cecil,

Don't worry the powers that be are ready to engage.

Over 20 specially outfitted armoured vehicles will arrive in Trinidad and Tobago soon to assist the country’s law enforcement in the fight against crime.
Sources say the vehicles — 20 armoured sports utility vehicles (SUV), along with 15 armoured personnel carriers (APC), are being outfitted with safety gear designed to withstand various forms of attack.
The vehicles will also have speciality equipment inclusive of GPS, gun ports and computerised systems, which will be linked to various national security agencies.

            • odw.

Thanks for keeping us up to speed with what's in the works, heaven knows that the country's law enforcement needs all the help they could get to deal with the problem at hand.

As I've said before I think it is vital that they bring back some sort of under cover unit to deal with  white-collar crime because this area is where most of the crime is committed but is investigated the least.

  • All life is precious, and one murder victim should not be seen as more important than another.
Having said that, however this murder is significant , since I believe it was meant to send a chillling message to police and law enforcement officials.
It was a hit, pure and simple, and some big shot criminal paid to have it done.
Like the late Pablo Escobar would have done.

  • How about putting more cameras. Might be better than police presence. You will see all involved.

    • Imamu Baraka,

Cameras are a good idea but costly to put all over the country.

T&T need a special unit of law enforcement officers to deal with organize crime, like the one they close down a few yeare ago.

  • It is possible that T&T will need the help to deal with the problem at hand. I will say the root cause of present situation is money laundering and corruption because of how they relate to all other crimes, most times when you wipe these people cash flow you put them out of business.

The Authorities must stop the pussy-footing and go after the BIG players.
