Having spent so much of my life around the world of STEELBAND MUSIC, I decided to write a book on how STEELBAND MUSIC was spread around the world. I have to admit that the book is AMERI-CENTRIC, but at the same time, some of the biggest pioneers who contributed to the GLOBALIZATION of  THE INSTRUMENT did so here in AMERICA.

Nobody can doubt the magnitude of the journey that STEELBAND MUSIC has made traveling to every continent on earth, but there is much more work to be done. Much like RUDY KING said in an interview on this website, I can't seem to see a way where the current generation of PAN PIONEERS could "Put Pan In Front" and let it rise to the level of so many PAN DREAMERS who want to see the music reach HIGHER HEIGHTS.

  • Hey Claude, what would help most of all, more than any money you can donate, is if you can pronounce or describe the music of our culture as Steelpan music. It will go a long way to promote the Steelpan and it's proper name. Congrats tho, but use the correct name next time.

  • Steel Drum music?

  • Congratulations Bro..

    • It is not a BIG CECIL. Or as the AFRICAN AMERICANS say: "Ain't no BIG THING."

I just feel that we are STUCK and we need some drive and momentum and BRAINS to keep pushing across  new borders.

      Thanks!!!

      • Congratulations Mr. Gonzales on the publishing of your book.
