Chairman of the National Carnival Commission (NCC) Kenny Da Silva says it is time the commission raises its own funds and not depend on the public purse to stage the greatest show on earth.

When Carnival 2016 comes to a close on February 9, Da Silva will call for a financial and staff audit into NCC.

These were two of the issues Da Silva said the NCC was looking at, as it tries to become less reliant on government’s funding from here on.

  • Okay, so I'll answer my own question: 9.1.2 a says "steelbands shall stop playing before entering the holding bays" What f there are extensive delays like supper or problems with the lighting system?
  • I read this article this morning and I wondered if Da Silva was threatening to audit KEITH DIAZ and PAN TRINBAGO.

    • I didn't see it that way. He said "audit into NCC". PT is a 30 m untouchable.BTW what I couldn't understand is why during intermission in Friday's panorama, the bands in both holding bays had to wait 45 minutes doing 'nutten' while the judges supped. They were prohibited from making a note. Could someone explain that?
