Culture and Arts Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly has said the National Carnival Commission (NCC) will be collecting the gate receipts at Panorama 2017 events.
However, Pan Trinbago public relations pfficer Michael Joseph said the “gate receipts issue will be ironed out” during a meeting with NCC chairman Kenny De Silva at 8 a.m. today.
Pan Trinbago acting president Richard Forteau, All Stars ace pannist Dane Gulston and other pannists have reached a “compromise” after threats were issued to abort Panorama 2017, and repeated calls for the organisation’s president, Keith Diaz, to resign over allegations of mismanagement of financial resources and reputed lavish lifestyles.
Gulston and former Pan Trinbago vice-president Byron Serette attended a meeting at City Hall in Port of Spain on Tuesday where eve- ryone was informed Panorama 2017 will go ahead, starting with single-pan prelims in Tobago on January 20.
Interviewed yesterday, Gadsby-Dolly said: “We are responding to the gate receipts. The NCC will collect the gate receipts and the Pamvesco (from Pan Trinbago) will be providing that service. It will not mash up Pan Trinbago but it will only ensure we have a clear idea.
We are looking at the Pan Trinbago governance structure. There seems to be room for improvement. We are paying the suppliers and the groups. They have been informed about it....”

Absolutely poor authority. How can an arm of Pan Trinbago (Pamvesco (from Pan Trinbago) run a service which entails management of $$=gate receipts, when its inefficiency, lack of accountability in that respect is in the public domain???
Pan Trinbago has been finally caught. The government will step in to correct th organization into a more suitable one and have more control over them. Even though it is an NGO, it came about with an Act of Parliament, so Parliament can call back the Act as all other Acts can and have a discussion as to its present suitability. The mere fatc that NCC is running Panorama 2017 and Pan Trinbago still wants to control the gate receipts tells us everything. Still there will be some loopholds in that system. Someone must steal something. That's just what it is. But the level of gate receipts is what the government wishes to know. NCC will collect it. The government is not in negotiations with Pan Trinbago. It has already passed that order on to NCC.
I think you missed what the Minister said re gate receipts.
The Minister must stick to her guns and make sure the gate receipts are collected by the NCC at all cost. This is only way to get a true fix on what the gangstas have been doing for years. The gangstas will fight her on this. With this info out in the public the gangstas will no longer be able to cook the books.

“We continue to work with the organisation in the best interest. We have not engaged the issue of the vehicles. We are hearing it and looking on like the rest of the country. Those allegations are unsettling.”
Where is law and order in that country when a GOVERNMENT MINISTER could say that she is hearing about a crime and looking on like the rest of the country.
She cannot initiate an investigation?
